You Ain’t About This Life

I have waited all day to post on the Chris Brown, Drake and Meek Mill altercation. I have waded through the various reports and gotten the gist of the argument. Let me run it down Chris Brown , Drake and Meek Mill were all partying at the NYC club  WIP. Drake came in after Chris and according to people in Drake’s VIP section of the club he didn’t appreciate the way Brown was behaving. He spent and hour upset at how Brown conducted himself and spent about an hour telling everyone his dislike of the singer. As he got more heated he got people in his section hyped up the point they began to throw stuff his way. Once things got hot Drake apparently broke out but the aftermath left the club in ruin and Chris Brown, Karreche and 5 others being treated at local hospitals. Meek Mill took to twitter to plead his case of not being involved and reports confirm Meek was just there in Drake’s section. So what was the root cause? Rihanna , it is no secret that Drake is more than a little in love with Rihanna. It is also no secret the Bajan only uses Drake for hot collaborations and to make her ex mad from time to time. Sigh dumb move Drake people really got hurt all because your feeling got hurt. Read more  about the altercation from Kid Fury as he has an inside source that was in the club here and watch the video of Charlamange the God calling Drake out on his fradulent behavior below. Drake you ain’t about this life. You need to extend your tour because you are about to have to pay out. Let us know what you think in comments or @mediamyxx @akireshenri

Double Drake

Cash Money worked overtime yesterday as Drake dropped two videos yesterday. Videos for Take Care and HYFR hit the web late yesterday and gives two sides of Drake. Take Care is a duet between him and Rihanna and the video is trying to use imagery to tell the story of a sensitive rapper crushing on a slutty singer. The video is boring and trying too hard to be artsy. The song is dope, on the other hand HYFR video shows Drake going to his Jewish roots having a traditional party with a Cash Money mix. I love it which is surprising in itself.Despite the emotional rollercoaster Drake takes you on this album, the album is really good.  Watch the videos below and let us know what you think in comments or @mediamyxx @akireshenri

UK Press Raves for Rita Live

Rita is getting rave reviews for her opening spot on Drake’s Club Paradise Tour and her own SOLD OUT gig at  Hoxton Bar and Kitchen. While Rita told her fans she was terrified doing the arena tour and was glad to see her fans or “Ritabots” faces the reviewers let the up and coming star know she will be huge and needs to get used to the bigger venues with one saying: “After a short break and in true Roc Nation style, Rita’s theme music plays and she takes to the stage looking FABULOUS in a silver and gold dress. Rita is electric. After introducing herself and confessing that last night’s show supporting Drake was the scariest thing she’s ever done (“Tonight is much better – I can see all of your faces!), she got started with Walk The Line. The previously unheard Linkin Park-esque track had the stunner jumping around the stage like the charismatic babe she is. Her recent US release, Party and Bullshit, was next up, which the group of teen fangirls at the front of the stage absolutely loved. “I wish I hadn’t worn this stupid dress!” Rita told us, laughing and pulling it down before throwing some of her new merch swag into the audience to a great response. “This is the most excited I’ve seen you all night!” she joked with the very East London crowd. A couple of tracks later she hit us with a great version of the banger that launched her career, DJ Fresh’s Hot Right Now, before ending on her current single ft Tinie Tempah, RIP. The ridiculously catchy tune was a no-brainer to end on and is still in our heads days later. At just 25 minutes long, the set was small but perfectly formed – brilliantly showcasing Miss Ora’s great vocals, bubbley personality and awesome collection of tracks. In true Roc Nation style, her exit was a performance in itself, as she strutted off stage to an epic RIP instrumental. Rita Ora is going to be huge.” Rita will be bringing her live act stateside as she will be performing April 25th at SOB’s in NYC and on April 26th at the Viper Room in LA. Watch some higlights from her show below and  read more about the review posted here:http://www.rwdmag.com/music/article/live-review-rita-ora-hoxton-bar-grill-03-04-12 and tell us what you think about Rita’s live show in comments or @mediamyxx @akireshenri

Lil Wanye throws Rocks at The Throne

Lil Wayne used a pre-Grammy party to take another shot at Jay-z. This time he took a jab at The Throne, the group with Jay and Kanye saying “I met a red-bone, I took the girl home/I asked her what she wanna watch, she said, ‘surely not The Throne”. Meh, the crowd loved it and this is the second time within the last year Wayne has continued to come for Jay, last year Wayne called Beyonce a bitch and threatened to kidnap her but that was overshadowed by Beyonce announcing her pregnancy. Cash Money/Young Money want respect, the kind Jay-z and Roc Nation have , they have made no qualms saying this especially because they are better at launching new talent. When Forbes featured Jay-z and his success Baby decided not to be outdone they went straight to magazine Hip Hop Weekly( this is NOT a typo) to boast about this success and money. Cash Money recently has gone on a signing spree picking up Busta Rhymes, Tyga, Mystical and Christina Milian but at this point they have only released albums but Nicki Minaj, Drake and Wanye. Cash Money was front and center at the Grammys with both Nicki and Wanye performing in prime spots but it was Roc Nation who took home the Grammy gold, I guess that red bone doesn’t watch The Throne but Grammy voters do huh? Tell us what you think of this latest nudge by Wanye in comments or @mediamyxx @akireshenri
